Plague Diary, Day 12

This was, perhaps, the most American day ever. Jobless claims surged to a record 3.28 million. I’m getting more and more messages from local restaurants about donating to funds they’ve set up to help their staff. Meanwhile, the stock market continued the steep rebound it started yesterday. As if we needed more proof that the stock market and the economy are really two very different things.

What else?

Today would’ve been baseball’s Opening Day. I grabbed MLB: The Show 20 so I could virtualize my baseball craving, but regardless of how realistic the daytime Fenway shadows are, it’s not quite the same.

I also bought a package of hot dogs and made them at home for the first time in like a decade, since I’m not sure when I’ll be able to get to Fenway for my annual dose of chicken assholes and cow toes. Gotta make sure I keep myself healthy.

I’ve seen reports of rare animals strolling into our empty city streets. Is this when we finally find Bigfoot?
